Knitting Wire

We can produce hot-dip galvanized and PVC-coated braided wire of high material quality in desired sizes.

Knitting wire mesh is based on similar principles to knitting clothes, but is produced using special heavy-duty machinery.

Originally created as a cylinder, the knitted material is rolled to produce a flat block whose width can vary from 6mm to 1000mm.

The material has interlocking asymmetrical wire loops that can move relative to each other, allowing for sideways and longitudinal stretching. This also provides high flexibility, as each loop is bent like a small spring.

The weave can be used in its original plain form or further worked through by layering, folding, wrapping, stitching or compression. A common process is to roll metal mesh to form a diagonal or herringbone pattern. This gives the web an additional depth, usually between 4 mm and 8 mm.

knitting machines

Knitting machines have three main areas of interest:

A: The spool or spools of material to be knitted
B: Filament/yarn feeder
C: Cylinder head

The material strips are drawn from the feeder rollers, routed through the fiber feeder and knitted by needles held in the roller head. The knit material is then drawn and stored for further processing.

Varying the number of feeder rollers, yarn feeders and arrangement, as well as the size, arrangement and number of needles in the cylinder head allows knitting various types of webs.
